What we do?
SAPEC develops devices and solutions for high-quality TV signal transport in professional environments.More
The Path to the Video is considered to be the entire process from the capture at the source (sporting events, news, etc) until it gets to the final user. The video signal, at the source, requires a very high bandwidth to be properly carried, which calls for compression methods that allow for its distribution without perceptual quality losses. From the moment it is captured until it is viewed by the final user, the signal goes through different processes, which can be classified in the following basic stages as shown in the figure.More!
Contribution links are all processes which is subjected to the video signal since it is captured until it is sent to the head of broadcasting, which is where it is transmitted to the end user. It is therefore to allow multiple codecs (Multi-generation) processes with less loss of quality. Used encoding profiles specific, commonly called 4:2:2 profile; strong restrictions on bandwidth scenarios, called 4:2:0 profiles can be used, and subsampling techniques of chroma low loss, allowing you to retrieve color information through filters of perfect reconstruction with the smallest possible information loss.More
Distribution links are those used to transport the video signal from the final production centres (end of the contribution chain) to the final head-ends that will carry out the Broadcasting through the different media to the final users. It is therefore considered that the video signal will not undergo further encoding and, consequently, the encoding applied in this stretch is much more aggressive, with the purpose of achieving a significant reduction of the bandwidth required for its Broadcasting. The last point of the chain of what is considered the video path is Broadcasting, which is the transmission of the audiovisual signals to the final user. This transmission is now digitally made, although in some countries there are still old analogue transmission systems that are being progressively replaced by digital. Digital television has revolutionised the television concept, using new digital models that allow for an optimised sound and image broadcasting, improving their quality. Additional access to the Information Society or interactive services can be included.More!
We offer solutions that can be applied at different points in the chain based on the client’s needs.
Our solutions include:
- Contributions for SD/HD through Fiber Optics, SDH, Ethernet (IP), satellite…
- TDT head-ends, for ATSC, DVB… combining SD and HD.
- Device management systems.
- Engineering (pre-sale and post-sale), integration and training services. More!
