SAPEC Marks Its 50th Anniversary Milestone with Major Enhancements at IBC 2026
- Stand 1.A91 in Hall 1 at the RAI Amsterdam will showcase the latest innovations from SAPEC, a Spanish specialist celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2026, from 11 to 14 September.
- LAGUNA arrives at IBC 2026 with an SMPTE ST 2110 interface, UHD stream compatibility, a fully consolidated Gateway module and improvements in areas such as multiple subtitle signalling in OP47 and advanced Dolby AC4 audio.
- The technological evolution of the SIVAC-ONE platform continues with new applications for its multiplexing capabilities, improvements in synchronization between signals, bidirectionality, and VLAN tagging capabilities.
Madrid, 1 September 2026. SAPEC brings a year packed with celebrations marking its 50-year history to a spectacular close at IBC 2026 (11–14 September, Amsterdam), celebrating a defining legacy in video contribution and distribution alongside the European industry, whilst previewing key enhancements that reaffirm the Spanish company’s commitment to continuing to support both current market realities and future projects.
Stand 1.A91 in Hall 1 at the RAI Amsterdam will showcase the latest additions to the LAGUNA family, demonstrating its adaptability in both legacy IP environments and SMPTE ST 2110 contexts. Also on display will be the SIVAC-One platform, meeting user demands with long-awaited multiplexing and synchronisation features, alongside a broad product portfolio featuring the VIDEO-MOS content quality analysis system, ACROMOVE’s private 5G networks and Univiso portable transmitters and routers.
LAGUNA: key improvements to meet new needs
The LAGUNA multi-channel environment exemplifies SAPEC’s commitment to supporting the market in all its challenges. Available in several versions differentiated by their processing capabilities — SINGLE (one channel), DUAL (two channels), QUAD (four channels) and OCTAL (eight channels) — it will demonstrate its operational reliability in both SDI and SMPTE ST 2110 environments, whilst facilitating discovery, registration and control via NMOS compatibility.
Following the unveil of its Gateway module at NAB 2026—which facilitates the management of up to eight IP-to-IP conversions per engine, transmittable to destinations via SMPTE 2022, SRT or RIST—SAPEC is now introducing three new features to meet broadcasters’ evolving regulatory and operational requirements: up to 8 subtitles signaling support in OP47, designed for subtitle processing and transport; Dolby AC-4, an audio compression standard for UHD and NGA environments that unlocks interactive audio options via the SAPEC platform; and automatic Input Failover, ensuring greater continuity for the signals being transported. These new features refine a resilient and versatile solution, as each channel can be configured independently as either an encoder or a decoder, depending on the requirements of each project.
SIVAC-ONE: MPTS multiplexing, synchronisation and VLAN tagging
Having been used in some of the world’s most challenging sports broadcasts, such as the recent 2026 FIFA World Cup – where it was used to receive UHD signals in Spain – SIVAC-ONE will also form part of SAPEC’s showcase. The modular 3G and 12G platform, based on low-power (25W) and low-latency (170 ms glass-to-glass) HEVC modules, will debut its multiplexing function in Europe. This allows it to combine up to four FHD/HD/SD channels to generate a single MPTS (Multiple Programme Transport Stream) signal, alongside standard SPTS (Single Programme Transport Stream) delivery.
For complex remote productions, such as live sporting events, SIVAC-ONE is enhanced with asynchronous synchronisation capabilities. This enables high-speed or slow-motion cameras generating three independent signals to be transmitted via a single card. Furthermore, the SAPEC platform will now support bidirectionalty and VLAN Tagging (IEEE 802.1Q), which translates into greater security and service priority in the transport of IP packets.
SAPEC will also be showcasing at IBC 2026 its HEVC/H.264/MPEG-2 encoders with the integrated GREDOS II modulator, available with a DVB-S / S2 / S2x satellite modulator or for Digital Terrestrial Television (ATSC, DVB-T / T2, or ISDB-T).
VIDEO-MOS, ACROMOVE and UNIVISO: MOS and 5G at IBC 2026
SAPEC will round off its presence at IBC 2026 by showcasing a range of solutions from its key technology partners. VIDEO-MOS, the AI-powered content quality analysis system based on the MOS subjective quality parameter, will prove its compatibility with UHD environments, including both the analysis of 4K streams and the validation of HDR elements in signals. At the Sapec stand, visitors will be able to experience the full potential of VideoMOS and understand how to identify and distinguish the video distortions that truly impact the end user, thanks to the AI-based processing technology employed. A new and significantly more powerful graphical user interface will also be showcased, making real-time operation simpler and more efficient..
Furthermore, to meet the needs of productions in environments with high signal congestion or high demand, SAPEC will introduce the European audience to the capabilities of ACROMOVE’s private 5G networks. With these easily deployable 5G “bubbles”, production teams can transmit ultra-low-latency live video using dedicated bandwidth that does not rely on third-party services, facilitating ambitious remote deployments with the highest level of reliability.
The SAPEC stand will also feature systems from UNIVISO, a technology company specialising in professional live video transmission solutions over 4G/5G mobile networks and IP networks. It develops and manufactures bonding, encoding and video contribution equipment for broadcasters, production companies, live events, sports and emergency services, enabling reliable, high-quality transmissions from any location. Its portfolio includes portable encoders, network aggregation routers and cloud management platforms, designed to offer connectivity, flexibility and low latency in professional audiovisual production environments.
