Telefonica chooses LAGUNA MEDIA PROCESSOR for Senate TV
The project consists of the bidirectional transport over IP of 8 high definition (HD) signals using H.264/AVC compression with low delay between the Senate building and the Torrespaña control centre in Madrid.
This project has been carried out by Telefonica Audiovisual Services (TSA).
The Laguna solution allows different variants and configurations according to customer needs. In this case, it has been installed the one with the highest capacity; the LMP8000 model or also known as LAGUNA OCTAL. LMP8000 supports up to 8x channels in just 1RU, allowing each channel to be defined as an encoder or decoder, and with totally independent profiles for each channel.
The LMP8000 platform is the same in both locations. In this way, the unit installed in the Spanish Senate premises, was configured with 7 encoding licenses and 1 decoding license. The unit installed in Torrespaña, had the opposite configuration, with 1 encoding license and 7 decoding licenses.
LAGUNA MEDIA PROCESSOR, also supports additional functionalities through software licensing such as the possibility of HEVC coding, Logo insertion for branding in the encoder, multiplexer to generate MPTS output, and has a redundant hot-plug redundant power supply, up to 4 IP interfaces for redundancy and web management with the possibility of remote updates among other features. A single Hardware platform allowing multiple functionalities as needed.
A first level reference, for the transport of a signal of relevant importance, confirms the reliability of LAGUNA MEDIA PROCESSOR.
