The broadcast feeds took full advantage of Ultra High Definition: 4K, HDR (High Dynamic Range), WCG (Wide Colour Space), HFR (High Frame Rate) and immersive audio supported by Dolby technology. RTVE also benefited from SIVAC-ONE’s ability to transport content using the SRT standard, a backup solution that proved very useful during the event. All these technologies, masterfully deployed by RTVE’s engineering and operations team with the advice of SAPEC, made it possible to create a global milestone: the first free-to-air broadcast of the event in UHD via DTT. SIVAC-ONE will also demonstrate at IBC 2024 its ability to handle UHD/3G/HD signals with WCG and HDR signalling for remote contribution based on HEVC/H.265, capabilities that translate into the ability to handle resolutions up to 2160p50/60 4K UHD. All this is achieved with extremely low power consumption, demonstrating SAPEC’s strong commitment to helping companies meet their environmental goals.
