LAGUNA MEDIA PROCESSOR IS AGAIN THE CHOSEN SOLUTION FOR VIDEO CONTRIBUTION, 
THIS TIME BY CANAL SUR TV

Canal Sur TV has awarded SAPEC with the project for upgrading its contribution network between the main Andalusian cities. This was possible thank to the reliability and versatility of the LAGUNA MEDIA PROCESSOR.

Canal Sur Televisión has updated its contribution network with 18 new encoders and 20 new decoders with support for HEVC/H.264/MPEG-2 HD/SD profile 4:2:2 with IP interface. Other important factors of the requirements of this project have been:

•  That allows transmission through IP networks without quality of service (public internet)
• Include a team management system

SAPEC presented the Laguna family encoders and decoders, Laguna DUAL model, versatile equipment that is able to decode up to two HEVC/H.264/MPEG-2 video signals, or encode 2x H.264/MPEG-2 Signals, or 1x HEVC.

Like all models in the LAGUNA family, the DUAL model integrates a redundant and hot-swappable power supply, has several IP output interfaces, and includes SRT protocol for transmission over the internet.

The Laguna equipment supplied will allow Canal Sur to grow in the number of channels if required in the future, since they allow, through a simple software update, the encoding or decoding of an additional signal. LAGUNA also offers great flexibility since the same equipment is able to be converted as a video encoder or decoder as required by the application.

For the management of all the equipment supplied, as well as the integration of existing SAPEC equipment Canal Sur network, SAPEC will supply the proprietary graphic management platform: VideoIPXPoint, which will allow the connection of teams in a simple and agile way.

A very important milestone for LAGUNA and SAPEC in the video contribution market.
