SAPEC brings a year packed with celebrations marking its 50-year history to a spectacular close at IBC 2026 (11–14 September, Amsterdam), celebrating a defining legacy in video contribution and distribution alongside the European industry, whilst previewing key enhancements that reaffirm the Spanish company’s commitment to continuing to support both current market realities and future projects.

Stand 1.A91 in Hall 1 at the RAI Amsterdam will showcase the latest additions to the LAGUNA family, demonstrating its adaptability in both legacy IP environments and SMPTE ST 2110 contexts. Also on display will be the SIVAC-One platform, meeting user demands with long-awaited multiplexing and synchronisation features, alongside a broad product portfolio featuring the VIDEO-MOS content quality analysis system, ACROMOVE’s private 5G networks and Univiso portable transmitters and routers.

LAGUNA: key improvements to meet new needs

The LAGUNA multi-channel environment exemplifies SAPEC’s commitment to supporting the market in all its challenges. Available in several versions differentiated by their processing capabilities — SINGLE (one channel), DUAL (two channels), QUAD (four channels) and OCTAL (eight channels) — it will demonstrate its operational reliability in both SDI and SMPTE ST 2110 environments, whilst facilitating discovery, registration and control via NMOS compatibility.

Following the unveil of its Gateway module at NAB 2026—which facilitates the management of up to eight IP-to-IP conversions per engine, transmittable to destinations via SMPTE 2022, SRT or RIST—SAPEC is now introducing three new features to meet broadcasters’ evolving regulatory and operational requirements: up to 8 subtitles signaling support in OP47, designed for subtitle processing and transport; Dolby AC-4, an audio compression standard for UHD and NGA environments that unlocks interactive audio options via the SAPEC platform; and automatic Input Failover, ensuring greater continuity for the signals being transported. These new features refine a resilient and versatile solution, as each channel can be configured independently as either an encoder or a decoder, depending on the requirements of each project.

SIVAC-ONE: MPTS multiplexing, synchronisation and VLAN tagging

Having been used in some of the world’s most challenging sports broadcasts, such as the recent 2026 FIFA World Cup – where it was used to receive UHD signals in Spain – SIVAC-ONE will also form part of SAPEC’s showcase. The modular 3G and 12G platform, based on low-power (25W) and low-latency (170 ms glass-to-glass) HEVC modules, will debut its multiplexing function in Europe. This allows it to combine up to four FHD/HD/SD channels to generate a single MPTS (Multiple Programme Transport Stream) signal, alongside standard SPTS (Single Programme Transport Stream) delivery.

For complex remote productions, such as live sporting events, SIVAC-ONE is enhanced with asynchronous synchronisation capabilities. This enables high-speed or slow-motion cameras generating three independent signals to be transmitted via a single card. Furthermore, the SAPEC platform will now support bidirectionalty and VLAN Tagging (IEEE 802.1Q), which translates into greater security and service priority in the transport of IP packets.

SAPEC will also be showcasing at IBC 2026 its HEVC/H.264/MPEG-2 encoders with the integrated GREDOS II modulator, available with a DVB-S / S2 / S2x satellite modulator or for Digital Terrestrial Television (ATSC, DVB-T / T2, or ISDB-T).

VIDEO-MOS, ACROMOVE and UNIVISO: MOS and 5G at IBC 2026

SAPEC will round off its presence at IBC 2026 by showcasing a range of solutions from its key technology partners. VIDEO-MOS, the AI-powered content quality analysis system based on the MOS subjective quality parameter, will prove its compatibility with UHD environments, including both the analysis of 4K streams and the validation of HDR elements in signals. At the Sapec stand, visitors will be able to experience the full potential of VideoMOS and understand how to identify and distinguish the video distortions that truly impact the end user, thanks to the AI-based processing technology employed. A new and significantly more powerful graphical user interface will also be showcased, making real-time operation simpler and more efficient..

Furthermore, to meet the needs of productions in environments with high signal congestion or high demand, SAPEC will introduce the European audience to the capabilities of ACROMOVE’s private 5G networks. The popular LAGUNA family will be showcased with significant new features across different versions, which are distinguished by their internal processing capacity and available interfaces: SINGLE (one channel), DUAL (two channels), QUAD (four channels) and OCTAL (eight channels). The multichannel platform is introducing its eagerly awaited Gateway module in the U.S., enabling users to handle up to eight IP-to-IP conversions per engine. These can be dispatched to eight separate locations via SMPTE 2022 or protocols such as SRT or RIST.

This isn’t the only new feature for LAGUNA: the system is returning to NAB 2026 with full interoperability with UHD contribution and decoding workflows. This makes it fully compatible with the most demanding audiovisual environments. Furthermore, LAGUNA introduces BTS generation capabilities to facilitate integration into American ISDB-TB environments.

The LAGUNA ecosystem supports a range of applications, including DTT distribution and multi-channel video feeds, as well as bidirectional applications. Additionally, each channel can be configured as either an encoder or a decoder, depending on the project’s requirements.

Meanwhile, the SIVAC-ONE platform is preparing for a year in which it will once again play a pivotal role in some of the world’s most challenging sports productions. The modular 3G/12G platform, which is built using low-power, ultra-low-latency HEVC modules for real-time HEVC/H.265 video encoding and decoding, is seeing the long-awaited addition of a multiplexing capability.

SIVAC-ONE, which can operate as a single 2160p50/60 UHD video channel or as a multi-channel solution supporting up to 4 FHD/HD/SD channels, was previously capable of transmitting each individually encoded signal exclusively via SPTS (Single Program Transport Stream). Now, up to four channels can be multiplexed to generate a single MPTS (Multiple Program Transport Stream), which will be used in various production and broadcast contexts.

GREDOS II, The CornerCam, and VideoMOS at NAB 2026

SAPEC’s showcase at NAB 2026 would not be complete without the GREDOS family of H.264/MPEG-2 encoders, which feature an integrated modulator. Available in both DVB-S/S2/S2x satellite modulator and Digital Terrestrial Television formats, the device demonstrates its versatility in ATSC, DVB-T/T2 or ISDB-T environments.

On a completely different note, and following its successful appearance at the major European event Sports Innovation, SAPEC will showcase a real-time demo of the CornerCam system. Developed by SAPEC’s R&D team, this solution integrates two pan-capable cameras into a corner flag to offer an unprecedented close-up view of the action on the soccer pitch. Having received full safety approval from FIFA and IFAB, the tool will also be presented at the Egripment stand (C7321), which belongs to the Broadcast Solutions Group.

We will also have the presence of VIDEO-MOS, an artificial intelligence-powered content quality analysis system based on the MOS subjective quality metric. Having consolidated its compatibility with UHD environments, the solution will unveil its new web-based graphical interface at the Las Vegas trade show. This will allow users to create a mosaic of configurable probes, enabling them to instantly view the real-time status of audiovisual signals.

SAPEC’s presence at NAB 2026 will be rounded off by Acromove, a specialist in Edge Cloud infrastructure and massive data migration solutions for the broadcast sector. SAPEC targets European expansion with the appointment of David Lois

IP solutions will be a key feature of SAPEC’s presence at the RAI in Amsterdam. By adapting to industry standards such as SMPTE 2110 and SMPTE 2022, and adopting protocols that are being adopted and consolidated worldwide, such as SRT and RIST, products like LAGUNA and SIVAC-ONE are strengthening their position in the face of a hybrid industrial reality. In this reality, users can explore the advantages of IP while still having access to reliable and resilient SDI options.

LAGUNA: New gateway function and automatic input switching

IBC 2025 will mark the European debut of LAGUNA’s highly anticipated Gateway function, first unveiled at NAB 2025. The four models of the UHD/HD/SD multichannel platform — SINGLE (single channel), DUAL (two channels), QUAD (four channels) and OCTAL (eight channels) — can now be upgraded with an optional licence to enhance their renowned encoder and decoder functions.

With the new Gateway function, LAGUNA systems will be able to manage a maximum of eight IP-to-IP conversions per engine and send them to eight different destinations. This will help users realise their most complex contributions and distributions. They will also have complete freedom to choose their preferred channel: the SMPTE 2022 standard or the SRT and RIST protocols (developed by the Video Services Forum for transporting content via public networks).

This is not the only new feature that LAGUNA will be unveiling at IBC 2025. The SAPEC team will also be presenting a new function designed to simplify signal management for broadcasters: automatic input switching. This new licence-based tool allows users to select their preferred destination for video signals, regardless of their source protocol. For example, an SRT signal can be automatically switched to a RIST output channel.

LAGUNA is used globally for tasks such as multi-channel video contribution, DTT distribution, bidirectional applications, transport over public IP networks and UP/DOWN conversions, and is available in both SDI and SMPTE 2110 versions. The system also adapts to the UHD world with licences available for the QUAD (LMP4000) and OCTAL (LMP8000) versions, offering thumbnail viewing and analysis and monitoring capabilities in accordance with the ETR-290 specification.

SIVAC-ONE becomes part of the 2110 universe

At the Amsterdam event, the latest addition to the SAPEC family of solutions will be showcased: the SMPTE ST 2110 version of the SIVAC-ONE modular encoding and decoding platform. This new version has UHD-HDR capabilities and is based on ultra-low latency FPGA technology (with glass-to-glass latency of less than 170 ms). Previously available in 3G and 12G models in electrical and optical modes, the solution now offers a new option ready for the IP world. This responds to growing industry demands and forms part of a catalogue of SAPEC tools adapted to a broadcast landscape that embraces the advantages of both SDI and IP.

This tool is capable of managing UHD/3G/HD signals with WCG and HDR signalling and will debut a new multiplexing function at IBC 2025, benefiting from HEVC/H.265. Once updated, equipment configured in four HD encoder mode will enable users to multiplex these channels for use in different production and broadcast contexts.

The SAPEC team will be exhibiting the H.264/MPEG-2 encoder family with integrated GREDOS II modulator at IBC 2025. This includes a version with a Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) modulator supporting ATSC or ISDB-TB and an alternative with a satellite modulator (DVB-S/S2/S2x). Offering simultaneous audio channel management with MPEG-1/AAC/Dolby AC3 and EAC3 compression, the solution has a capacity of up to two video channels (SD/HD) and can optionally support HEVC in 4:2:0 or 4:2:2 profiles.

The CornerCam camera flag system, developed by SAPEC’s R&D team, completes the Spanish company’s selection of tools at the RAI in Amsterdam. Attendees will be able to discover this alternative to football corner flags, which integrates two HD 1080i or FHD 1080p cameras (upper and lower) with horizontal remote control. This tool connects to mobile units via fibre optics and is operated using a preselection and multi-screen system created by SAPEC.

Video-MOS, ACROMOVE and UNIVISO will be joining SAPEC at IBC 2025.

SAPEC will be supported at IBC 2025 by a solid ecosystem of carefully selected partners, whose solutions complement its own to form a robust network of tools for video contribution and distribution. All of these partners will be present at stand 1.D98 in Hall 1 in demo format.

Video-MOS, a company specialising in AI-based content quality control using the MOS subjective quality measurement parameter, is returning to IBC after updating its artificial intelligence engine to make it compatible with UHD environments. ACROMOVE will deploy a fully functional private 5G network, which is becoming an increasingly popular alternative in highly congested environments. SAPEC will also host solutions from UNIVISO, a manufacturer of 5G broadcast backpacks capable of delivering 4K resolution signals with minimal latency.

SAPEC leads the renovation project of SICOM Televisión’s headend in Mexico

• • SICOM Televisión, the public television of the Mexican state of Puebla, has embarked on an ambitious refurbishment project, for which it has relied on SAPEC’s consultancy, design, implementation and after-sales services, as well as its solutions.
  • BROTELEC, a SAPEC company based in Mexico City, has been responsible for designing an integration comprising the headend, reception and retransmission to six centres in total.
  • With equipment such as LAGUNA or GREDOS, SAPEC enables SICOM to harness the full potential of high definition (HD) and Dolby Audio via ATSC.

  Madrid, 23 July 2025 – SAPEC has been responsible for the ambitious renovation project undertaken by SICOM Television, a decentralised public organisation in the State of Puebla, Mexico, which is reaching a new milestone by consolidating HD broadcasts through renovating its headend. Working alongside SAPEC staff in Madrid, BROTELEC and a team led by Gabriella Galán have been responsible for the initial consultancy, equipment prescription, infrastructure design, testing, configuration and after-sales support, thus providing the backbone for the television station’s next phase.

  SICOM Televisión began broadcasting in 2003, offering programming that combines information, entertainment, and public service. As a public broadcaster in the state of Puebla, the station broadcasts in the city of Puebla and Zacatlán. It also operates eight radio stations located throughout the region.

  Recently, SICOM contacted SAPEC to redesign its entire headend in order to adapt its broadcasts to HD resolutions. Following advice and recommendations from the Spanish company, SICOM decided to implement several of its solutions, beginning with two LAGUNA Octals to handle encoding, multiplexing, and satellite uplink for distribution to six strategically located reception sites in the state: Huauchinango, Teziutlán, Zacatlán, Acatlán, Izúcar de Matamoros and Tehuacán.

  In each of these installations, SAPEC has deployed a GREDOS GGR1000 unit, which downloads and demodulates the headend. This allows six additional LAGUNA Octal units to transcode and multiplex the signals to generate headends with different bandwidths and formats. All of this is done in HD with Dolby audio.

  Beyond the consulting process, SAPEC was responsible for the configuration, testing, training and onboarding process through BROTELEC. The company also offers a remote technical support service prepared to meet the needs of each radio and television station. The project was completed with a second project for SICOM Radio, which improved content delivery to its transmitter centres.
