Madrid (11/09/15).-

SAPEC (F27, Hall 1) launches AVANTOS, its latest HEVC solution in real time, together with its new range of High-End encoders and decoders at IBC 2015, in a new booth located in the new space within the fair with respect to last year (F27 inside Hall 1).

The new AVANTOS, HEVC solutions in real time

At IBC 2015, SAPEC is launching: AVANTOS, complete family of encoders and decoders under the new ITU-H.265 standard, optimised both for HD and SD. Among the main features of the new AVANTOS devices, it is worth pointing out that they have HEVC implementation in real time for progressive (720p) and interlaced (1080i) signals, they support encoding profiles in 10 bits: Main10, and they are optimised for the encoding of interlaced signals (1080i, 575i, 475i) and improve the video quality, which allows for reducing the bitrate (with a total latency reduction of more than 40%). These new devices, which have ASI, IP and HD-SDI Interfaces and redundant power supply units, will be on display at booth 1.F27, since an AVANTOS VHE5010 encoder and an AVANTOS VHD5010 decoder have arrived in Amsterdam, both fully operational. The new AVANTOS products have a lower bit-rate to reach the same video quality reducing the client’s OPEX (operating expense). The devices have HD-SDI inputs and ASI outputs and video over IP with FEC (Forward Error Connection); while the audio encoding accepts MPEG1-LII, AAC and Dolby Digital (as an option). These are devices with 1RU Chassis that are designed for big international broadcasters and telecommunications companies. But at the same time, they are easy to integrate, configure and use, and accept internal management of N+1 redundancy, and remote management and update through WEB/SNMP, as well through the front panel with a keyboard and display.

New Sivac One

Sivac-ONE, the new Sapec’s modular system of professional H.264 encoders, is launched in Europe for the first time. A device that allows for installing up to 3 encoders and decoders and AC or DC redundant power supply units in only one 1RU through Hot Insertion. The encoders can support both MPEG2 and H.264, in Main profiles, High for distribution and in profiles H422 of 8 and 10 bit for contributions with very high quality and very low delay, with HD-SDI inputs (1 video / 16 audios), audio inputs (4 AES-EBU), generation of up to 8 PMTs and two ASI outputs and two IP (SMPTE 2022). Their energy efficiency is very high. One channel consumes less than 25W, one of the most efficient in the market.

The IRD GREDOS family comes back to Amsterdam

The GREDOS family has been designed for the transport of video signal via satellite (DSNG). The transmission devices incorporate an encoder (MPEG2/H264) and DVB-S/S2 modulator in only one 1RU. Now the modulators can be updated with the new DVB-S2X standard features. The family is extended with a new device that incorporates the encoder and the ATSC modulator, reducing and simplifying the broadcasting solution for small digital TV stations. In the range of receivers (IRD’s), there is a new module to be able to receive DVB-T/T2 signals, which puts these devices among the most versatile in the market. They can be configured to receive signals via satellite (DVB-S/S2), via ATSC, via DVB-T, via IP, and via ASI. These devices have MPEG2/AVC video encoding in Main, High and H422P profiles, and DVB-S/S2 modulation within the same chassis. All the encoding algorithms have the same quality as the Altum II family, but with the incorporation of the DVB-S2 satellite modulator.

ALTUM II HD Codecs

The new generation of encoders for contribution / distribution ALTUMII, with models that cover solutions from SD to HD with MPEG2, H264 and 422 contribution profiles, has now reduced its latencies and incorporates features such as a new Ethernet interface (3 in total), with full configuration of parameters through the front panel. Autum II devices are designed to offer high-quality video distribution and can be optionally equipped with VideoFlow Digital Video Protection DVP, which means that these devices are built to guarantee the highest quality within any live video broadcasting over unmanaged networks, such as an internet connection. Among their main features, the new devices have an ASI interface and IP with FEC (Forward Error Connection); N+1 internal redundancy management; AC/DC power supply units with the possibility of redundancy; Remote management and update through WEB/SNMP; SD models are upgradable to HD at any time; they greatly improve the compression algorithms (lower bit-rate, but same image quality); are committed to the environment with the improvement of the energy efficiency (consumption reduction of 30%); have a N+1 redundancy without external managers and with a By-Pass of the signal received through the deco to another destination.
