SAPEC AWARDED WITH THE DELIVERY OF IRDs TO RTVE CLIENTS IN AMERICA

SAPEC has finally been awarded with the biggest delivery of IRDs (66pcs) as part of the project based on the reception of the Spanish television signal in different countries in the American continent.

This delivery is part of project where the units are installed at RTVE clients in America to receive the channels of the American headend.

Mainly is to receive the new HD channel from RTVE called STAR HD, a new channel from the Spanish Broadcaster that strengths its international position [1].

This batch of 66 IRDs will be installed at different clients (mainly telecom and cable operators) in countries like USA, México, Guatemala, Perú, Argentina and Colombia.

The equipment supply is particularly the Gredos IRD model GHR6202, with double power supply unit, IP output, common interface and of course DVB-S/S2/S2x reception and down conversion functionality to decode HD and SD simultaneously.

SAPECs competitive price together with a 100% compliance of some very exigent requirements has made possible the success on this project. One main requirement was the compatibility with the Keyfly[2]encryption system, a system that guarantees the protection of services over DVB networks enabling content distribution to regional operators.

Even thought the equipment will work on H.264 by now, the GHR6202 supports HEVC decoding. Hence, the clients have secured their investment with SAPEC upon the possible future upgrade of the transmitted signal to the new compression algorithm.
