SAPEC, Spanish company specializes in professional solutions for the transmission of audio and video signals, bet decisively for its expansion in America. Therefore, for this year at NAB in Las Vegas, SAPEC is opting for a stand of larger dimensions (stand SU-11.410 with new decoration). SAPEC also announces the opening of our new office in Mexico City. This new office along with the expansion of our office in Columbia will provide full coverage to all broadcasters and telcos in the Americas similar to the support that we have provided for many years in Europe.
New Encoder and Decoder HEVC
NAB thus becomes the ideal place for the presentation of cutting-edge solutions that go far beyond current technology. SAPEC technology has made it possible to take to Las Vegas their new Encoder and Decoder HEVC in real time, a device that becomes the first implementation of the ITU-H.265, and will be at 100% operating for demos the new SU-11.410 stand at this NAB 2014. Among the main features of this new real-time HEVC Encoder Decoder, highlight video encoding is HEVC Main10@L4 of audio in MPEG/AAC/Dolby Digital/Dolby Digital Plus (8 stereo) and has support for HDTV. The outputs are DVB-ASI or 100/1000 Ethernet standard SMPTE 2022-2, and has a lower Bit-rate, but with the same quality of video.
It’s a team with chassis 1RU with redundant power supply of high level of engineering proposed and designed for large broadcasters and telcos worldwide, but not for this reason ceases to be an easy-to-integrate, configure, and use equipment.
New GREDOS
SAPEC also introduces a new range of products that offer solutions for the transport of the signal via satellite with less consumption, less space and lower cost
The new Encoders and IRD’s for applications with satellite GREDOS.
What is ultimately this family Gredos? SAPEC combines in the same case the video encoder and the satellite modulator. All coding algorithms have the same quality as the Altum II family, but additionally a DVB-S2 satellite modulator has been incorporated.
The main features of these machines include the Encoder over the modulator will fit in a single 1RU rack. It is of a modulator DVB-S/S2 advanced modulation with a Roll-off up to 0.05% to 32APSK. For his part, fourth-generation encoder supports HDTV (or SDTV) as well as MPEG2 or H.264, including 422 profiles, and has outputs simultaneous ASI and Ethernet and L band. Among the features of the Receptors – Decoders (complete IRD), we emphasize that you have inputs in band L, Ethernet and ASI, supporting MPEG2 or H.264, including 422 profiles, and allows management of redundancy between inputs, as well as forwarding signal by Ethernet or so.
New generation ALTUM II
SAPEC stands out well in Las Vegas with its fourth generation of the successful current codecs that exist in the market, the ALTUM, that has evolved now to be called ALTUM II and now has a lower consumption, more functionality, and lower cost. Among the main features, the new equipment greatly improve compression algorithms (lower bit-rate, but same quality of image); they reduce the total latency video-to-video by 20%; they are committed to an environmental commitment to the improvement of the energy efficiency (reducing consumption by 30%); they have a redundancy n + 1 without external managers and with a by-pass of the signal received by the deco to another destination.
New offices in America
SAPEC has opened a new office in Mexico City, and is proud to announce that Carmen Piña will be responsible as Coordinator to offer full service to its customers both in North America, the Caribbean and South America.
Miguel Cristóbal, General Manager SAPEC
“This year we intend to make a leap from very important image. We have doubled the space at NAB, we will have a specific decoration made for this event and really believe greatly in our presence at NAB. We have nine years coming, but this year we are going to make a qualitative leap from very important image.”
“We are still making a strong investment in the sales department. Open office in Mexico and the expansion of offices in Colombia are two clear examples of this qualitative constant bet.”
“The products presented at NAB include the new generation of encoders Altum II; the new range of GREDOS products that claim to provide solutions for the transport of the signal via satellite: and finally a technological demonstrator that will be at our booth, it’s a new coder with the new encoding standard that was published in the year 2013, the HDTV HEVC with H.265 encoder. It is our first implementation in this regard, but will already be operational at our booth and will enter production this year. A perfect solution that will greatly reduce the operating costs of the customer”.
