SAPEC at IBC 2018
SAPEC has been regularly attending IBC during over a decade and a half, and this 2018 will not be less than any other…but it will be different.
Sapec has always presented compression solutions at the forefront of innovation, keeping always in mind what customers need. This year, and following the same line, SAPEC will present two solutions that not only add value to today’s ones, but also prepare the customer network for the future.
SAPEC has walked that extra mile, by preparing, adapting, designing two of the SAPEC Encoding product families for the future. The first solution is the SIVAC ONE UHD.
Based on the Sivac One family of modular encoder cards, SAPEC has upgraded the hardware to provide an added value proposition: HEVC UHD 4K compression.
Three card slots in each 1U chassis allows the customer to have up to 3 UHD 4k Channels encoded on a light weight and low consumption modular platform with 2 hot-swappable power supply units (AC or DC).
Each independent (hot-insertion) encoder card, has a complete range of interfaces to adapt to all different customer needs.
Which are these interfaces? Will each card support 4x FHD HEVC channels? How many audios per card can I compress? What is the road map for this interesting, problem-solver product?
SAPEC professionals have the answers to all these questions and what a better place to meet them and get the answers that at IBC 2018 in Amsterdam RAI.
The second innovative solution that SAPEC will present at IBC 2018 is the LAGUNA.
LAGUNA is a multi-encoding platform, that allows the customer to encode (on HEVC, H.264 or MPEG2) up to 3 independent channels and being able to select a 1xMPTS multiplexed output, or just 3xSPTS independently.
LAGUNA offers the possibility of integrating a DTT or Satellite modulator. For example, a DVB-S/S2 for uplink, an ATSC or an ISDB-T/Tb with REMUX for a DTT head-end. In this last case, a One-Seg encoded channel is also possible with LAGUNA.
Therefore, LAGUNA counts with ASI, IP, 3G and RF interfaces and it is able to use them simultaneously.
Laguna has ASI, IP and RF interfaces, and these could be used simultaneously.
LAGUNA inherits all SAPEC know how by being a software defined platform such as LOGO insertion, Pattern generator, N+1 redundancy and more. The platform allows future software upgrades, not only firmware based, but in the direction of scalability into other, future solutions.
LAGUNA INTERNAL ARQUITECTURE WITH 1xMPTS Output
The latest development on this multiencoding platform is the possibility of choice by the user to have 3 independent SPTS output instead of 1xMPTS output. This solution will provide to Broadcasters with, besides capital expense savings on new multiplexes, flexibility in existing ones.
LAGUNA SIMPLIFIED ARQUITECTURE WITH 3xSPTS Independent Outputs
SAPEC will exhibit this year on a new booth and new location in Hall1. BOOTH: F56.
In addition to these 2 new compression solutions, SAPEC will exhibit also other know solutions as their AVANTOS HEVC family of encoder decoders (4:2:2, 10 bit, HD) and its GREDOS family of Encoder- Modulator and IRD.
SAPEC professionals look forward to meeting you there.
