IBC 2019: REVOLUTIONAZING THE CONTRIBUTION OF THE COMPRESSED SIGNAL
SAPEC UPGRADES THE MULTIENCODER LAGUNA TO A VIRTUAL MEDIA PROCESSOR
Sapec has always presented compression solutions at the forefront of innovation, keeping always in mind what customers need. This year, and following the same line, SAPEC will present at IBC 2019 the new development that will clearly have an impact on the contribution market of compression.
The Multichannel platform presented last year with capacity of up to 4 channels encoder, will be now brought to Amsterdam as a Media Processor with the new capabilities:
- Now up to 8 x SD/HD channels support on H.264 and MPEG-2
- Now up to 4 x SD/HD channels support on HEVC
- Now the user can select the function of each channel to: ENCODER or DECODER
SAPEC has walked that extra mile in order to open a world of possibilities to Broadcasters and System integrators. Laguna Media Processor (LMP) will be upgradable by software licenses, so the customer can design the configuration that suits best their project needs every time.
Laguna Media Processor, with its internal multiplexer, allows o work both with SPTS streams as well as MPTS streams. Besides it offers the possibility to integrate a modulator (DTT or DVB-S/S2) for multichannel uplinks applications for example.
A combination of ENCODERS and DECODERS also opens a range of possibilities for customers. In addition to having different independent encoders and decoders in the same unit, it is possible to configure LAGUNA as a transcoder.
“With the new range of possibilities that LAGUNA gives to the Broadcasters, we expect to see LAGUNA MEDIA PROCESSOR as the chosen solution for many existing and new contributions networks since it helps reducing both CAPEX and OPEX expenses. It allows broadcasters to transport more content with less hardware, a hardware that can be reconfigured and upgraded easily by software to assist on a different application on different times” – stated Javier Verduch Golfe, responsible at SAPEC for Business Development in Europe. In addition, SAPEC will exhibit also other know solutions as their AVANTOS HEVC family of encoder decoders (4:2:2, 10 bits, HD) and its GREDOS family of Encoder- Modulator and IRD.
