RTVE took steps to link all its provincial Reporting Units with their corresponding Regional Centers in a bid to finalize the connection between each of its offices. In doing so, they now have available video contribution links, among other capabilities.

With the introduction of this system, RTVE now has video links to 30 provinces where this was previously unavailable, and can connect them with their corresponding Regional Center.

SAPEC was awarded the contract to supply video encoders and decoders for this project, using systems from the ALTUM II family. These have the capability to establish SD links over ASI and IP using the H.264 algorithm in 4:2:2 profile. In addition, they can be upgraded to HD whenever required.

Thanks to the Reporting Units project, RTVE complements the already existing contributions in the Regional Centers, which were set up six years prior, thereby completing its video contribution system in every province. This makes real-time content available to every one of its offices throughout the country.

SAPEC was once again awarded the contract to supply compression systems similar to those previously supplied to RTVE for the Regional Centers and the Congress of Deputies projects, offering them a homogeneous and easy to manage solution.
